  • The maximum monthly transfer amount for an individual is $733 and for a couple $1,100. In general the benefit level increases every year and is based on increases in the Consumer Price Index. This does not include the state supplement which varies in amount. The following states do not pay a state supplement: Arizona, Northern Mariana Islands, Mississippi, West Virginia, North Dakota. Benefit level is dependent on amount of income. Level is calculated by subtracting the amount of countable income from the SSI benefit. Income that is not countable includes: the $20 of income, income tax refunds, home energy assistance and others.
